Visit the Port-Louis covered market early in the morning to avoid rush hours. Do not hesitate and lose yourself in what locals name the bazaar to discover unique colours and atmospheres. You will find spices, vanilla, Chinese noodles, cassava, pineapple... Food symbols that demonstrate the cultural variety at work on the island.
Stop for a while, aside from all this excitement, and enjoy a delicious dholl puri, chickpea tortilla that goes well with alouda, the local refreshing drink.

Domaine de Labourdonnais, a must-go-to

Pescatore, mandatory stopover

On Trou aux Biches beach in the north, Pescatore restaurant has become a milestone in the Mauritian region. From the beach, you can make out a colonial style terrace, promise of an ocean-coloured lunch.
