Masterpieces of the French city of Reims in Hiroshima

From Jacques-Louis David to François Boucher, Camille Corot, Léon Lhermitte, Renoir and Foujita, as well as Art Nouveau and Art Déco artists, you can admire many masterpieces in Hiroshima.

The concept of this exhibition is born from an exchange between a delegation of curators and French and Japanese businessmen to further develop a common project. Thus, Brain Trust Inc. CEO Junichi Shibata was welcomed by the curator of the Museum of Fine Arts of Reims Catherine Delot to reflect upon the idea of this travelling exhibition named Masterpieces from Musée des Beaux-Arts, Reims.

The roadshow started in Japan in Spring of 2016 and will close at the end of 2017 at the Nagoya City Art Museum. Meanwhile, from February to March 2017, the Hiroshima Museum of Art hosts the exhibition. It shows the essence of what the Museum of Fine Arts of Reims usually offers the French public, finally available to a large Japanese crowd. This prestigious collection gathers artworks from all artistic movements from the 16th to the 21st century, encompassing paintings, sculptures, furniture and antiques.
