King's Birthday

This national event is celebrated from the 13th to the 15th of May every year.
The festival was created to celebrate the birthday of King Norodom Sihamoni, sovereign of Cambodia since the 29th of October 2004. The event is celebrated by the king who makes offerings to monks and the underprivileged. Many government buildings are covered in lights and photos of the king while people proudly place the Cambodian flag on their homes.
The palace is open to the public for the event and a great feast is held.
