Insurance

Are you a resident of metropolitan France, the French overseas departments and territories, or Europe? In partnership with Mondial Assistance, Air France offers 2 travel insurance policies that are tailored to fit your needs: missed/canceled flight insurance and comprehensive insurance. Note: risks associated with the A/H1N1 flu are not covered by these 2 insurance policies. However, when purchasing a comprehensive insurance policy, you can also opt for a supplementary plan (within 48 hours) that covers any effects of the A/H1N1 flu if the virus is declared a pandemic (level 6) by the health authorities.

Missed/canceled flight insurance

Missed/canceled flight insurance: cancelling with minimum fees

Unexpectedly forced to cancel your flight? With missed/canceled flight insurance, Mondial Assistance reimburses cancellation fees or the non-refundable cost of your ticket*. *Up to the cost of the original departure ticket. Forced to cancel: the conditions for reimbursement Prior to departure, the unforeseen incident that keeps you from flying must have taken place in your country of residence. The policy notably covers you in case of: - illness or accident affecting you or your close relatives, - family emergency (death of a family member, summons for adoption, etc.), - terrorist attack in your destination city, - professional emergency (layoff, new employment, vacation days changed by your employer, etc.), - theft of identity documents occurring within 48 hours of departure, - etc. When canceling your departure flight, you must first inform Air France. Then, in the 5 days following the unforeseen incident, inform Mondial Assistance and send all necessary documentary evidence.

Miss your flight, not your trip

Did you miss your flight? Missed flight insurance covers the price of a new ticket* to the same destination in the 24 hours following your original flight! Important: we recommend that you arrive at the airport well in advance of the Check-in Deadline for your flight! If you miss your flight, you must inform Mondial Assistance immediately. *Up to the cost of the original departure ticket.

How do I subscribe?

Remember to purchase missed/canceled flight insurance when booking your ticket online, by telephone, or at an Air France ticket office. For your convenience, this insurance policy is automatically offered when you purchase your ticket online. See the general conditions.

Supplementary A/H1N1 flu plan

If the health authorities declare a pandemic (level 6), this supplementary plan covers all effects of the A/H1N1 flu. This plan is an optional supplement to the Comprehensive insurance policy taken out when purchasing a ticket. The optional coverage included in this contract is available for trips reserved between 09/14/2009 and 04/30/2010. Important: this option must be added when you subscribe to Comprehensive insurance (or within 48 hours). If these conditions are not met, your A/H1N1 coverage plan will be nullified. The price of this supplementary plan is €15. To add this optional plan, you must go to our partner Mondial Assistance's website by clicking on the link provided when you purchase your Comprehensive insurance policy.
